You may think you’ve never heard of Brooklyn born MC and DJ, Stimulus, but you’re probably wrong. His latest effort sees him taking a break from the well known ‘funk-hop, New York based “The Real Live Show”, a collective of two lyricists (Stimulus & Dionysos) together with a seven piece jazz/funk ensemble. TRLS was formed in 2001; known for their charismatic energy and sounds live on stage. The Real Live Show was started out with Eric Rivas from the Branford Marsalis’ quintet, James Hurt who had just finished up work on Bilal’s album, and Thor Madsen, who was playing with Wax Poetic while Norah Jones was still their yet to be discovered lead singer. Stimulus’ collaboration with The Real Live Show allowed him to cultivate and build upon his amazing and unique musical talents. Stepping away from the crowd, moving in the direction of his solo musical voice, the journey has lead Stimulus’ down a two year road in making his debut artist album, “A Kings County Tale.” Indeed, this is truly a king’s tale!
